St. Patrick’s Community Support Centre

Volunteers

Want to volunteer with St Pat’s?

Our volunteers are the heart and soul of St Pat’s – the various services we provide would not be possible without the help of volunteers. If you are interested in offering your time and skills to make a real difference in the community, we would love to have you on board!

Who are we looking for?

Above all, we are looking for volunteers who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of others in their community.

Additionally, if you have any specific skills that you would like to use for good, whether it be in graphic design, social media or another area of expertise, please let us know and we may be able to personalise your volunteer role.

The many volunteer roles available at St Pat’s have varying levels of time commitment ranging from one or two days a week to one-off special events. The roles also differ in the sectors they are involved in, from administration to direct contact with clients of St Pat’s.

How can you get involved?

Ongoing roles requiring a regular time commitment include are involved in these areas:

  • Kitchen

  • Health Clinic

  • Dental Clinic

  • St Pat’s Rack Op Shop

More information about these roles can be found here [link to PDFs of Job Descriptions] .

One-off volunteers are needed for special events that St Patrick’s organises throughout the year:

  • Annual Long Table Dinner (November)
  • Sleep Out Under the Stars (March)

Fundraising

You can volunteer to assist with fundraising for St Pat’s through our events or even host a volunteer event of your own. Check out our Rough Guide to Fundraising for more information on how you could help raise funds for the organisation.

Want to find out more?

We hold regular information sessions for those who are interested in volunteering or are simply wanting to learn more about our organisation, what we do and how you can support us. These sessions include:

  • An overview of the centre and the way we work
  • A tour of the day centre and its various operations
  • The opportunity to ask any questions you may have

The next information session is on the 5th of February at 6.30pm at our Community Centre (12 Queen Victoria St, Fremantle).  You can book a spot at the evening through this link.

Alternatively, you can find out more about St Pat’s through our Annual Report.
